6 fun-filled summer camps around Ireland this July and August

We’ve handpicked some of the most exciting multi-day camps.

NATIONWIDE

Anyone4Science: There are camps to suit kids of all ages running this summer at 24 venues from Cork to Dundalk, each with age-appropriate experiments (think bubble-making for littlies and renewable energy for teens) and a new topic every day.

Project Fashion: Taking inspiration from the movie Coco, aspiring young designers will create their own off-the-shoulder gypsy top, and will also upcycle jeans into a skirt or shirts. All you need to supply is the basic fabric – everything else is included. No experience necessary.

Suits: 7 – 15. Where: Locations nationwide. When: Five-day camps in July August. Cost: €125 for five days. Find out more here.

DUBLIN

Surfdock Camps: Adventurous types will love this weeklong camp, where they’ll learn a mix of water and land-based activities, from stand up paddleboarding to kayaking to cable wakeboarding. No experience is required and groups are led by qualified instructors.

Suits: Ages 8 – 16. When: Week-long for June, July and August. Where: Grand Canal Dock, Dublin. Cost: €215 for five days. Find out more here.

The Big Dig Archaeology Camp: Let your child loose on a makeshift archaeological site where they’ll learn enjoy excavations, archery, historical treasure hunts and even a visit to a real-life dig. Perfect for history lovers and curious kids.

Suits: Ages 7 – 12. When: Day or week-long camps in July and August. Where: Malahide CS and Harold’s Cross NS. Cost: €125 for one week/€35 daily. Find out more here.

LIMERICK

Summer Youth Dance Camp: Dance Limerick will run two camps, one for kids and one for teens in July. Participants will explore two dance styles each day (jazz-lyrical and hip-hop), with a mini-performance at the end of the week.

Suits: 5 – 12 or 13+. When: July 16 – 20. Where: Dance Limerick Studio, St John’s Square. Cost: €70 for the week. Find out more here and here.

CORK

Summer Pony Camp: Lee Valley Equestrian centre runs week-long pony fun camps all summer. Get riding lessons, learn about horse care, go on treks and get some arts ‘n’ crafts time in too.

Suits: 8 – 17. When: Week long from July 16, July 30 and Aug 21. Where: Crookstown, Cork. Cost: €150 for the week. Find out more here.
