AN IRISHMAN HAS been seriously injured in a fight in Bulgaria.
The incident happened on Tuesday night at the Den Glade Viking club in Sunny Beach.
A number of media outlets are reporting the Irishman received a fractured skull.
A spokesperson for the club told TheJournal.ie the incident “involved a tourist and another who we do not know”.
“What we do know, is that the tourist got into a fight in front of a boxing machine and it was our security that took the tourist to the ambulance to get immediate aid.
“After helping the police in their investigations by supplying our CCTV footage we do also know that a culprit has been arrested because of our help and we hope he will be punished accordingly.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is providing consular assistance to the man’s family.
