This warm weather is going to hang around for a little while

Hurrah!

Updated at 1.30pm

YOU MIGHT HAVE noticed the past couple of days have been pretty balmy.

And Met Éireann has some news that will be music to the ears of anyone feeling weary after the long weekend – the sunny spells are due to hang around.

The forecaster is predicting another few days of high temperatures and clear skies as a mini-heatwave hits Ireland.

After a warm day today – it’s set to hit 18 degrees once again tomorrow.

These conditions will continue through Thursday until Friday, when a nasty band of showery rain will move across the country, bringing showers by the evening.

Temperatures will dip just above freezing each night, with frost and patches of misty and fog.

The weekend will be a wet and windy affair, but look, let’s not think about that just yet. Anyone fancy a swim?
