Donald Trump ruined an Englishwoman's morning by mistakenly tweeting about her

The Brighton woman has responded by suggested the incoming President learn a bit more about climate change.

A BRIGHTON WOMAN mistakenly mentioned on Twitter by Donald Trump has responded to the incoming US president by saying he should take more care on the social media platform – and maybe spend a little more time learning about climate change.

Ivanka Majic, who works as a digital consultant, told the BBC how she and her husband were roused from their sleep at 6am by calls from media outlets after her Twitter handle featured in a post to the President-elect’s 20 million followers.

He had quoted a post from another Twitter user who had mistakenly used Majic’s handle instead of that of Trump’s daughter, Ivanka.

“I came downstairs to check my phone and I had so many notifications,” Majic, who has worked for the UK Labour party in the past, told the BBC.

It’s very unusual to be speaking to both ITV and the BBC 45 minutes into your day.

She had been confused with her better-known namesake before on Twitter, she said.

Ivanka is an incredibly boring and popular Slavic girls name. The other one I get confused with is an Hungarian concrete company called Ivanka concrete.
I’m still undecided about whether to change my username. I don’t use Twitter very much partly as a result as having so many mentions. Tweets from normal people get lost in the mix.

Trump, who is due to take over from Barack Obama in an inauguration ceremony this Friday, has yet to acknowledge his mistake and hasn’t deleted the tweet. It’s now been retweeted by over six thousand people and liked by over 31,000.

Ivanka Trump meanwhile (who tweets from @IvankaTrump rather than @Ivanka) has been tweeting about her family life – apparently unaware of the whole palaver.
