Boost for Leitrim as over 150 jobs announced

The drive will bring the number of people employed at medical devices company Vistamed to over 500.

MORE THAN 150 new jobs are on the way at Leitrim-based medical devices company Vistamed, it was confirmed this morning.

The recruitment drive will bring the number of people employed at the firm to over 500.

Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor will make the official announcement at the opening of Vistamed’s new research and development facility at Carrick-on-Shannon today.

Recruitment for a total of 200 jobs is taking place at the moment, a statement released this morning said.

37 people have already been hired as part of the process.

Vistamed 

Founded in 1999, Vistamed has two medical manufacturing plants in Carrick-on-Shannon and Rooskey in Co Leitrim.

It’s an extrusion and catheter provider to the medical device sector.
