This Labour senator wants his poster of bride and groom haybales back

Yes, bride and groom haybales.

A POSTER BELONGING to Labour Senator John Kelly was stolen on Friday.

But it wasn’t just any poster…it was a poster of two hay bales dressed as a bride and groom exchanging glances while John stands in between them with his arms folded.

It was lifted in Ballinagare village between 3pm and 7pm on Friday.

Kelly is a candidate in the Roscommon-South Leitrim by election. He said:“Every single candidate in this election is entitled to promote themselves, by way of canvassing, posters or literature – that is democracy.

“This is my strong belief and it is just a pity that not everyone sees it that way. Anyone who thinks it is acceptable to go around pilfering campaign posters clearly has no respect for the democratic process.”

Voters in Roscommon-South Leitrim go to the polls on 10 October.
