Charity gives free joints to homeless people on Christmas Eve

The non-profit organisation said they stunt was an attempt to raise funds for services for homeless people.

A NON-PROFIT organisation in Denver, Colorado, gave away thousands of free pre-rolled joints to homeless people – and anyone else who wanted them – on Christmas Eve.

WXYZ reports Cannabis Can claimed they were trying to raise awareness about homelessness and encourage people to donate to their cause. They are hoping to raise money to provide toilets and showers for people in need.

“A lot of the people we spoke with really were just like, ‘if I had regular access to a shower, and a haircut my life would be so much better – I’d have so much more opportunity”, commented founder of the charity Nick Dicenzo.

Volunteers also handed out flyers and business cards to people with information on how they could donate.

In Denver is it illegal to smoke cannabis in public, but it can be given as a gift under certain circumstances.
