The first picture of the new Joker has been revealed and the internet is losing it

Jordan Catalano has lost the run of himself.

AS WE’RE ALL well aware by now, the next actor to play the Joker will be none other than Jordan Catalano himself, Jared Leto.

The Oscar winner will play the iconic Batman villain in Suicide Squad, in which a team of the comic book world’s most notorious supervillains team up to help the US government.

Leto began his transformation into the character last month, lopping off his signature ombré locks and stepping out with peroxide blonde hair at Paris Fashion Week:

Now we have our first proper look at Leto’s interpretation of the Joker thanks to Suicide Squad director David Ayer, who posted this picture in honour of the character’s 75th birthday.

Shout out to the ‘Damaged’ forehead tattoo.

Reaction to Leto’s Joker has been decidedly mixed, with some people noting the similarity to the Joker in the graphic novels:

The majority of people, however, just think he looks like Marilyn Manson.

You may remember that people had a similar reaction to Heath Ledger’s Joker when his look was first revealed in 2008, and we all know how that turned out.

Have faith in the Catalano, Batman fans.
