Justin Timberlake's mugshot released by police following arrest for 'driving while intoxicated'

The Sag Harbor Police Department in New York State said the singer was held overnight before being arraigned.

LAST UPDATE | 18 Jun

POP STAR JUSTIN Timberlake’s mug shot has been released by police after he was arrested for ‘driving while intoxicated’ in New York State.

He was arrested in the early hours of this morning in Sag Harbor, a wealthy area in the Hamptons on eastern Long Island and is a popular spot for celebrities.

The Sag Harbor Police Department confirmed his arrest on a driving while intoxicated charge.

The police department later told The Journal that Timberlake had been arraigned and released.

In a statement released this afternoon, the police department confirmed that at 12.37am (5.37am Irish time) this morning, Timberlake was observed driving a 2025 BMW “failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel”.

“A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,” the statement read.

“Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment.”

He was arraigned at the at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court at 9.30am (2.30pm Irish time) “where he was released on his own recognizance”, the statement concluded.

US broadcaster CBS, citing court documents, quoted a police officer as saying Timberlake was “in an intoxicated condition” when he was pulled over after failing to stop on Madison Street.

Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy,” and he “performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests,” CBS reported.

Timberlake is currently in the midst of his ‘Forget Tomorrow’ world tour and is due to play two gigs in Chicago later this week, and a further two in New York City next week.

The European leg of the tour will also include four performances in England in August.
