SUMMER IS HERE – time to make the most of it!

The summer months are all about soaking up extra vitamin D when we can and having a blast while doing so. With so many great gigs, fab festivals and wonderful days out to be enjoyed in Ireland, the hard part is narrowing down your options. Luckily, we’re here to give you a hand in deciding.

Kaleidoscope, Ireland’s favourite family festival, is back and bigger than ever for 2024. Taking place in Russborough House in Blessington, Co Wicklow, from 28 to 30  June, it’s got something for festival-goers of all ages.

Glenveagh, one of Ireland’s largest community builders, has signed on to become the  Kaleidoscope Festival’s presenting partner. The partnership will also see Glenveagh host its own area at the festival where attendees can have a break from the music and enjoy the many activities taking place.

If you like the sound of heading along to a family-friendly festival with a fantastic lineup, we have some great news for you. Thanks to Glenveagh, we have one family pass to give away to a lucky reader! We’ll tell you all the details later, but first, let’s take a look at all the goings on at Kaleidoscope.

Kaleidoscope Festival

Preparations for the festival are well underway, with 20,000 attendees expected over the weekend. They’ll be there to make the most of the world-class musicians from Ireland and abroad, as well as the incredible range of activities that will leave a smile on everyone’s face.

The star-studded lineup includes The Waterboys, Lyra, Tolü Makay, The Kooks and many more. From Block Rockin’ Beats to baby raves and carnivals to classic tunes, this is shaping up to be the weekend of the summer for families of all shapes and sizes.

Glenveagh Elemen-Tree Woods

Glenveagh will be hosting its very own area at the festival with lots of activities perfect for kids. From tree house design workshops with Dermot Bannon to festival crown creation with Nature Heroes, these activities will get the creative juices flowing.

Those taking part in the tree house designing workshops can enter into a competition to see their creation come to life. The lucky winner will be rewarded by having their winning design, chosen for its creativity and innovation, installed at home by Glenveagh’s expert team, with design consultation from Dermot Bannon himself.

DBGlenveigh21 Dermot will have his hands full deciding the best design.

You’ll also find Ladies Gaelic Football Association ambassadors in the Glenveagh zone who will be running skills sessions for budding young footballers. These top-class skills sessions are not to be missed by any sports-mad kids.

If it all gets too much, you can even stop by and sign up for a kids’ movie and chill out for the night. That is just a small sample of everything going on in the Glenveagh zone, so Kaleidoscope attendees will enjoy popping in over the weekend.
