Karen Buckley killer's sentencing to be broadcast live on TV

Sky News will show the hearing.

THE SENTENCING OF Karen Buckley’s killer Alexander Pacteau will be broadcast live on TV.

Sky News will carry the broadcast of Tuesday’s sentencing hearing, Scotland’s Crown Office has confirmed.

Pacteau last month pleaded guilty to the murder of Irish nurse Karen in Glasgow. He attempted to strangle Karen before hitting her multiple times with a heavy spanner in his car and then hiding her body at a farm.

Pacteau was formally arrested following the discovery of the remains. He was charged on 17 April with the murder, and with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

It later emerged that he had stood trial for attempted rape in 2013, but was acquitted by majority verdict.

Sky News will have pool access to the footage, meaning that other broadcasters will have access to it.
