IN 2005, MENTALIST Keith Barry performed an act in which he predicted a gas explosion would happen a week later.
Within eight days, the Buncefield oil depot had exploded.
Now, Barry says he has had premonitions about what’s going to happen in the coming months.
He reckons the government will fall, Prince Harry will get a girl pregnant and Nasa will prove there is life on Mars.
Oh, and The Book of Kells will get stolen.
He also predicts a surprise win for QPR against Man City this weekend.

There’s a swastika symbol in Buddhism and hinduism (and other religions as well) that represents represents peace and well being. In Buddhism, the swastika signifies auspiciousness and good fortune as well as the Buddha’s footprints and the Buddha’s heart. Although it has been a positive symbol in these religions for thousands of years, it’s a pity that now the western world can only connect it with Nazism, that has existed less than a hundred years.

Most of the time they are opposite directions. But the Buddhist or Hindu symbol can sometimes be the same direction as the Nazi one. Have a look at this article. Well it has been suggested by brighter minds than my own that if everyone replaced the word ‘is’ from their speech with ‘might be’ or ‘seems to me to be the case that’, then we’d have a discourse much less driven by competition over truths and much closer to the reality as portrayed by zen buddhism and quantum mechanics. In the present climate though, if I was the owner I would change the name tbh. Makes sense. And it’s not giving into Isis at all. It’s simply common sense in business terms.

This reminds me of the Swastika Laundry that was on Shelbourne Road in Dublin from the early 20th century until the early 90′s (late 80′s?). The used to have a little framed article on the wall that explained the history of the Swastika symbol and how the laundry business pre-dated the Nazi regime by many decades – it was pointed at by the staff to explain reality to the ignorant morons who regularly came in, telling them that they were a disgrace, etc:
