Man to appear in court over fatal stabbing of 33-year-old man in Cahersiveen

It happened at around 4.35am yesterday at Fertha Drive in Cahersiveen.

A MAN WILL appear in court this afternoon after being charged with the killing of a man in Kerry yesterday.

The incident happened at around 4.35am at Fertha Drive in Cahersiveen.

A 33-year-old man received serious stab wounds and was removed by ambulance to University Hospital in Kerry where he was pronounced dead.

A 20-year-old man was arrested a short time later and is currently detained at Killarney Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. He will appear at a sitting of Tralee District Court this afternoon.

Gardaí wish to appeal to witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident or have information to contact them at Cahersiveen Garda Station on 066-9473600, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
