Price comparison: What can I buy in Co Kildare for under €480,000?

From Naas to Newbridge, here’s what’s on offer.

ARE YOU ON the hunt for the perfect home but hoping to get as much bang for your buck as possible? Who isn’t? 

Each week, we pick four homes within a similar budget in one location, to give you a better idea of the property landscape at a set price point.

This week, we’re heading to Co Kildare and looking at properties on the market for  €480,000 or under. 

Four-bed, detached, Kildare – €400,000

10 Rathbride Close has a floor area of 158 m² and overlooks a large green to the front and has a south west facing back garden. Built in 2006, it’s one of 35 homes.  The rooms inside comprise a hall that leads to the living room and then a kitchen with a dining space and a utility off it. An office and then a double room with an en suite bathroom completes the ground floor. 

The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs along with a family bathroom. There’s a garden to the back and space for parking to the front. This home is handy walking distance from a train station, plenty of schools and Kildare Village shopping centre while Dublin is an easy commute.

Three-bed, bungalow, Naas – €335,000

79 Hazelmere is a cosy three-bed bungalow with a floor area of 85 m². A handy end of terrace, it has a side entrance to the garden. The rooms inside comprise an open plan living space with great flow and lots of light that incorporates the kitchen, dining space and lounge. A mix of porcelain tile semi-solid wood floors zone the large space.  French doors lead out from the dining area to the back garden, which has a decking area. The garden is home to a brick-built shed that’s fully wired.

On the other side of the hall sits the three bedrooms that all share the family bathroom. The attic is floored and can be used as a handy storage space. The house is a quick walk from Naas town, so schools, shops, restaurants, bars, a cinema and leisure clubs are all nearby. The M7 and N7 motorways and Naas/Sallins train station close for an easy commute.

Four-bed, semi-detached, Kildare – €325,000

16 Ruanbeg Park is a 123 m² home with a great BER of B3 that has been upgraded over the years to include new windows, doors, radiators and even a new kitchen. The ground floor of the main house consists of a hall that leads to the lounge and then the open plan kitchen and dining space. A utility room and a guest toilet completes the floor.

Each of the four bedrooms are located upstairs – the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom while the others share the family bathroom. For the remote worker, there is a handy home office in the back garden. This property is conveniently located on the edge of the Curragh, while only minutes from Kildare town centre, so everything is easily accessible.

With off-street parking to the front and a lovely private back garden that gets lots of sunlight, there’s plenty of space inside and out. The rooms inside comprise a large kitchen and dining space that could easily be transformed into another lounge. Patio doors from the kitchen lead to the roomy garden. 

Each bedroom sits upstairs along with the family bathroom, while the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom. This large family home has the benefit of being part of a quiet estate yet is a short walk from shops and schools as well as the M7 motorway for an easy commute. It’s also close to Newbridge train station.
