Traffic diversions in place as Dublin Fire Brigade attends scene of fire on city centre roof

THERE ARE A number of diversions in place in Dublin city centre this afternoon, as Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) attends the scene of a fire on Kildare Street.

A spokesperson for DFB told TheJournal.ie that two fire engines are at the scene of a fire on the roof of a building on the street.

The street is currently closed to traffic, and a number of diversions are currently in place on some Dublin Bus routes.

The 11, 25/a/b/d, 37, 38/a/b/d, 39/a, 46a, 70 and 145 buses are diverting through Nassau Street, Lincoln Place and Merrion Square before returning to their normal route.

AA Roadwatch said that a broken-down vehicle on St Stephen’s Green North just after the Kildare Street junction is exacerbating traffic problems with the routes busy on approach coming from St Stephen’s Green East.
