Man dies in Kilkenny caravan fire

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at around 1am this morning.

A MAN has died in a caravan fire in Kilkenny overnight.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Cloone Road, Ferrybank, shortly after 1am this morning.

The 64-year-old man was fatally injured in the fire. His body was removed to Waterford University Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.

RTÉ News reports that the man was staying in the caravan while his home was being renovated.
