Kenah Hill

First up on our list of exclusive Killiney homes is Kenah Hill. This estate-style home offers incredibly luxurious living and boasts beautiful views over Killiney Bay.

This is a truly stunning home and that is made clear from the grand entrance hall with its double folding doors. Bay windows in the sitting and drawing rooms offer impeccable views of the bay and the amazing grounds within the estate, which include tennis courts and a swimming pool. Marble period fireplaces are retained and continue the theme of elegance throughout the home, which is well matched by other aspects of the interior design, including intricate ceiling coving, sash windows, a feature Cathedral skylight and very other fine aspects, such as a timber mahogany fireplace.

Going upstairs via an arched stairwell leads to a peaceful seating area that’s well-lit thanks to a large skylight. Six out of eight bedrooms are on this floor, with the remaining two on the garden level. Each bedroom is tastefully designed, with the most delicate touches that assure luxury. Thanks to the house’s positioning, most rooms come with an incredible view, from Killiney Bay to the Sugarloaf in Wicklow. At the garden level, you’ll find a wine cellar, bathroom, two bedrooms, sitting room, utility room, fully fitted kitchen and games room, perfect for entertaining guests.

Heading outside of this palace, make the most of a suntrap patio with various paths that guide you to the front, the side, kitchen, the rear garden, indoor swimming pool and tennis court. The gardens span approximately 2.8 acres and offer excellent privacy. The swimming pool area includes a dressing room with a WC and an enclosed indoor heated swimming pool. Alongside the pool, a lounge and bar area is another excellent space to entertain guests. For those keen on practising their tennis serve, an artificial lawn on the court means you can play all year round.

Kenah Hill is on sale through Lisney Sotheby’s, with an asking price of €12,000,000.

Saint Ann’s

Next up is a detached Victorian two storey over garden level family home with panoramic sea views. Saint Ann’s is sure to impress, with approximately 1.35 acres of mature private grounds to enjoy.

This beautiful home retains many period features of the era including high ceilings, sliding sash windows and beautiful stucco work. Spread over 610 m², entry is via a portico that opens through to a bright and expansive reception hall with a gorgeous Adam-style fireplace, a library and an interconnecting drawing/dining room with stunning views over Killiney Bay. A contemporary extension on this side of the home includes a kitchen fitted with minimalist Bulthaup units, floor to ceiling glazing that brings great light into the space. The terrace overlooking the grounds is accessible through here, boasting great views of the scenic landscape around the home.

Upstairs in Saint Ann’s, you’ll find five double bedrooms and an office. The master suite is a real treat, spanning the entire width of the home. This room offers incredible views as well as bespoke his and hers ensuites and a dressing room custom designed by John Daly. A family bathroom and shower room complete the accommodation on the top floor. Rounding out the main property, a wine cellar, a family room, a games room and a shower room make up the garden level.

The main house is accompanied by a detached mews of approximately 335 m². This mews contains a 10m indoor pool, changing facilities, gym and a two-bedroom unit at ground floor level with a kitchen, sitting room, off-street parking and vehicular access onto Saintbury Avenue, perfect for guests. Guests will also benefit from the living/dining room, kitchen and guest bedroom en-suite on the first floor. On sunny days, you can enjoy a large terrace that soaks up sunshine all day. With a built-in BBQ, it’s the perfect place to spend a summer’s afternoon.

On sale through Lisney Sotheby’s, Saint Ann’s has an asking price of €5,950,000.

Currabinny

On Kilmore Avenue, you’ll discover the luxurious Currabinny. This detached home has 420 m² floor space and six bedrooms, suitable for all families.

The curves and design of this home are as much a delight as the quality of the furniture within it. It’s an impressive example of following through with a design idea, resulting in an incredible flow throughout the home. The opulence of the home is exemplified in the dining/music room with three double folding multi-paned French doors, a natural stone tiled floor, an open fireplace with slate inset and hearth and a piano tucked away in the corner, making it an amazing space for entertaining guests.

The luxury continues in the split-level reception, with curved solid wood multi-paned frosted doors opening into the dining space. You’ll find plenty of cupboards, drawers, display cabinets and shelving in this home, as well as a solid maple floor with a dark stained beading.

The master bedroom, complete with an en suite shower room, includes an elevated area with natural stone tiled floor and cylindrical sunken bath, natural stone wash hand basin set into vanity unit with drawers under, and is a really relaxing space with stunning views that can be taken advantage of from the balcony. The other bedrooms are similarly designed, with wooden floors throughout and incredible views from the windows.

Some of the ‘nice to haves’ in Currabinny include a guest quarters accessible from the front garden and the main house, a bespoke metal electric gate created by a top Irish designer that offers beauty and security, and a suntrap patio area with a barbecue. To the front of the home is a well-maintained private garden with a raised feature pond. If you need any more convincing, a pedestrian gate in the bottom corner of the garden gives the owners private access to Killiney Beach.

Currabinny is on the market for €3,500,000 via Lisney Sotheby’s.

Reenrour

Reenrour is a stunning semi-detached home that boasts incredible sea views across Killiney Bay and beyond. At 265 m² of floor space, it is not a simple seaside cottage, however.

This period home retains several touches from its history, including ornate cornicing, original fireplaces and large bay windows throughout the home. The drawing room on the ground floor showcases many of these aspects and is an excellent space to entertain and host guests. The dining room and kitchen are also situated on this level, with the kitchen containing integrated Neff appliances, a Chinese quarry tiled floor, several work surfaces and double doors that lead directly to the front garden.

The garden level provides another relaxing space in the form of a second living room. This space would make for excellent guest accommodation, thanks to the two bedrooms on this level, with one ensuite. There’s also a large laundry room on this floor, keeping it away from the main part of the house. Heading upstairs, three bedrooms are located on the first floor. The master bedroom has an incredible view of the stunning vista through high bay windows, spanning all the way to the Wicklow Mountains. A study is currently located on the top floor, but can be modified to another bedroom, depending on preference.

On top of these incredible living arrangements, Reenrour is home to a mature rear garden. You’ll find an abundance of planted flower and shrubbery beds, bordered by high hedging and tall trees for added privacy. Enjoy summer nights on the large patio that provides an amazing vantage point for taking advantage of the gorgeous views. A garden gate opens onto Strathmore Road, and from here it’s a reasonably short walk to the Vico Road for swimming and Killiney DART Station for easy commuting.

Reenrour is brought to the market by Lisney Sotheby’s, and has an initial asking price of €1,750,000.
