THE LAND ROVER Range Rover is one of the best luxury cars money can buy. Think of it like a Bentley wearing hiking boots – luxurious, refined but rugged and ready to tackle all terrain.
The interior is wonderful. The driving position is haughty – I mean high – and offers a full view of the large bonnet. The cabin is sleek and clean with most functions controlled by the touchscreen. The materials are top quality and the fit and finish are impeccable.
The Range Rover handles and rides really well. It is a massivley capable vehicle and manages all type of terrain superbly. It is refined and you hardly notice any engine, tyre or wind noise. And the eight-speed transmission is smooth and slick.
The Range Rover is definitely the car you want to be driving on long trips as it is easy to manoeuvre as well as being extremely comfortable and relaxing. It is also wonderful for passengers as there is so much leg and headroom in the front and the back.
This particular Vogue model is finished in Santorini Black metallic paint and features front fog lights, rear LED lights, Xenon headlamps with signature lighting, privacy glass and a body coloured full size sliding panoramic roof. There are power folding mirrors and a power tailgate. It sits on top of 21-inch ten-spoke alloys with diamond turned finish.
The exterior is complemented by a sumptuous ebony/ivory interior with Oxford leather seats with grand black lacquer wood finishers and a 380W Meridian audio system. Interior features include a heated wood and leather steering wheel (with steering wheel controls), 12-way driver and front passenger climate seats, heated rear seats and dual climate control.
There is sat nav, Bluetooth, an eight-inch touchscreen and “Say what you see” Intuitive Voice Control (SWYS). Driving features include; electronic air suspension, adaptive dynamics, intelligent stop/start, electronic power assisted steering (EPAS), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability program, roll stability control (RSC) and trailer stability assist as well as a whole lot more.
This car is powered by a LR-TDV6 3.0-litre diesel unit with stop/start technology. This engine is mated to an eight-speed transmission with Terrain Response, which sends power to all four wheels. The engine produces 255hp and 600Nm of torque. The car accelerates 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 210km/h.
Fuel consumption (combined cycle) is 6.9 litres/100 km and it falls into tax band E, which is €750 a year to tax. It comes with zero kilometres on the clock and a €156,250 price tag and you can have the option of a Land Rover manufacturer warranty or dealer warranty. Finance options are also available.
