LAST UPDATE | 1 Aug

DUBLIN FIRE BRIGADE is making “good progress” responding to a large fire blazing this evening in an industrial estate in north Dublin but some structures have collapsed.

The fire is located at an industrial premises in the Clonshaugh area of Dublin 17.

Dublin Fire Brigade has shared that six fire engines are at the scene.

It earlier described the fire as being located off of Coolock’s Oscar Traynor Road, which puts it in the Clonshaugh area.

“Dublin Fire Brigade currently have primacy at the scene. Gardaí are assisting with traffic management at this time,” a garda statement said earlier this evening.

Photographs taken from near to the fire show flames and smoke engulfing the Camfil building in the Clonshaugh Industrial Estate. Camfil is a Swedish company that makes air filtration systems.

The large plume of smoke could be seen clearly from quite a distance away in Dublin city centre.

Dublin Fire Brigade advised locals to close their windows and doors as a precaution if they can smell smoke.

Nearby Dublin Airport has issued a statement on social media saying that flights have not been disrupted but that the situation is being monitored.

The statement said the fire was resulting in “smoke blowing towards the airport this evening”.

“This is NOT impacting on operations at the airport and flights continue to operate as normal.”
