Gardaí catch learner driver doing 159km/hour in Limerick

GARDAÍ HAVE CAUGHT a learner driver speeding at 159km per hour in Limerick.

Gardaí shared a photo of the speedometer on social media earlier.

The driver was unaccompanied at the time, was not displaying L-plates, and had no tax or insurance.

The car was impounded and the driver is facing a court appearance.

Gardaí in Limerick also caught two other drivers speeding on the motorway, one person was doing 153km per hour, while the other was driving at 143km per hour.

Both drivers were fined €80 and received three penalty points each.
