Here's the average price of a home in Leopardstown in 2018

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Leopardstown is now just a shade over €500,000, according to the latest data from Daft.ie. 

Analysis across all properties advertised in the area in the second quarter of 2018 puts the average list price at €500,715.

This is slightly higher than some of its neighbours in Dublin 18, including Carrickmines (average €449k) and Cabinteely/Cornelscourt (average €482k). 

Meanwhile just across the racecourse in Foxrock, the average asking price of a property skyrockets to an eyewatering €930,124.

Prices in Leopardstown have been increasing in recent years more or less in line with the city as a whole – rising by 62 per cent since the recession, against a Dublin-wide average of 60.4 per cent. 

They dipped to their lowest level in 2012, when the average was €309,148. This is less than half the equivalent figure at the height of the Celtic Tiger, when prices hit an average of €664,912 in 2006.
