Murder investigation launched after body found in Limerick

Elderly man’s remains were discovered in a house in Limerick city last night.

GARDAÍ IN LIMERICK have launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was discovered at a house at St Munchin’s Street, St Mary’s Park, Limerick city, yesterday evening.

He has been named as James Boyce, 71.

A post-mortem has been carried out at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital on the 71-year-old’s remains, but the results have not been released yet.

Gardaí have sealed off the house at St Munchin’s Street for a technical examination, and are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding Boyce’s death to contact them at Henry Street station on 061 212 400 or on the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.

The investigators are also appealing to anyone who may have seen Boyce at any point between the early hours of Saturday morning and late yesterday evening to contact them.
