Man in his 50s receives serious head injuries in Limerick attack

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating.

GARDAÍ IN LIMERICK are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in which a man in his 50s received serious head injuries.

The incident occurred at Lord Edward St at around 7.45pm yesterday.

It is believed the injured party was in an altercation with another man who fled the scene. The man was taken to University Hospital Limerick and has since been moved to Cork University Hospital. Gardaí say CCTV will be viewed as part of the investigation.

There have been no arrests.

Gardaí at Roxboro Road are making an appeal for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Roxboro Road Garda Station on (061) 214340 or Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111.
