Man rescued from Limerick river this evening

He was taken to hospital by ambulance – where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A MAN IN his 30s was rescued from the Abbey river in Limerick this evening.

He was seen jumping into the water as three units of Limerick City Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene.

It happened at Barringtons Hospital at George’s quay at around 7:15pm.

Two firefighters went in after the man and reached him within seconds before bringing him back to safety at Curragower boat club.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance – where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
