Man in his 50s dies after being hit by truck in Co Limerick

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash at Lord Edward Street, Kilmallock.

A MAN IN his 50s has died after being struck by a truck in Co Limerick yesterday evening.

It happened on Lord Edward Street, Kilmallock, Co Limerick yesterday evening at around 5.15pm.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a lorry, a statement from gardaí said.

He was pronounced dead at scene and his body was taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post mortem will take place.

No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

Forensic examinations have taken place at the scene and the road has since reopened.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Lord Edward Street yesterday evening between 4.30pm and 5.30pm to contact them at:
