Two more arrests over Limerick car-ramming and robbery

A man who had just left a casino had his car forced off the road on the N20 before he was threatened and robbed at knife-point.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE robbery and assault of a man in the early hours of yesterday morning have made two further arrests this evening. A total of five people are now in custody.

It is understood the man, who is aged in his 30s, had just left a casino having won an amount of money when his car was rammed and forced off the road on the N20 at around 1.40am.

Gardaí said he was threatened at knife-point and a sum of money taken from him. The man was taken for treatment to Limerick Regional Hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening and he was later released.

Four people – two men and two women – were arrested yesterday afternoon in follow-up searches, and two cars were seized.

The two men, aged 25 and 31, are currently detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station. One of the women was later released from custody, while the other is still being held at Henry St Garda Station.

In the latest development, a man and a woman — both in their mid-20s —  were arrested this evening.
