Liveline listeners have had their say on the highs and the lows of the past year.

RTÉ LIVELINE LISTENERS have had their say on what were the highs and lows of 2017.

Voting on the highest and lowest moments of the past year, their text poll revealed some interesting results.

Giving the results with a health warning, presenter Joe Duffy said they tend not to measure one tragedy against another, which is why homelessness was not included in the poll this year.

Had it been included, Duffy says there is no doubt that homelessness would be number one number one, stating that it is a low point for so many people.
