16-year-old boy shot dead in Liverpool

Police were called to the scene of the shooting just before 11.10 last night.

A 16-YEAR-OLD BOY has been shot dead in Liverpool.

It’s understood that the boy was found on a towpath near Burrows Court, Eldonian village by a member of the public.

The teenager was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where he died a short while later.

Merseyside police have launched a murder investigation and the scene of the shooting has been sealed off.

Detectives say they are trying to establish a motive for the shooting.

High visibility patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the public.

The boy’s next of kin have been informed.
