London hostage situation resolved as man arrested

Police confirmed that the situation was not terror related.

POLICE HAVE CONFIRMED that a hostage situation at a restaurant in Leicester Square, London has been resolved.

A man in possession of a knife was holding a woman against her will inside the venue.

Metropolitan Police have said that a man has now been arrested and there are no reports of any injuries.

Two other people were inside the restaurant on Irving Street.

A Metropolitan Police statement confirmed that officers were engaging with a man to resolve the situation.

The police confirmed early on that the situation was not terror related.
