London police search for man after acid attack on school-run mother

The woman was collecting her two children from school when a man approached her and threw acid at her, causing her to be hospitalised with serious burns.

POLICE IN BRITAIN have appealed for information about a man who threw acid onto a mother collecting her two children from school in east London last March.

The mother, 40, was approached by a man – described at between 25 to 35 years old, with short black hair, wearing a black top and dark jeans - at about 3.20pm on 24 March on Harold Road, Newham. Police have said that the man was seen getting into a mauve coloured BMW carrying two Asian men after throwing the acid at the woman, the London Evening Standard reports.

The woman suffered serious burns to her head, shoulder and back and was forced to undergo specialist treatment for her injuries, the BBC reports. She has since been released from hospital.
