*starts to tidy bag*

A WOMAN FROM Kilkenny found a lottery ticket worth €139,025 after cleaning out her handbag last night.

The woman had been carrying the winning ticket around for two weeks without realising its worth

Speaking as she claimed her cheque at the National Lottery offices in Dublin today, she said: “My handbag was bulging and I decided to clear the load yesterday.

“There were a few lotto tickets in there. I thought, sure you never know, there might be a few quid on these.

“When I found out how much I won, I was absolutely delighted.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her ticket on 6 August in Dunnes Stores at MacDonagh Shopping Centre, Kilkenny. She won the prize in that night’s draw.
