An Irish person has just lost out on €1 million - after failing to claim their EuroMillions jackpot

THE BUYER OF a lottery ticket worth €1 million has missed out on their prize after failing to claim their winnings inside the given time limit.

The winning ticket, part of the EuroMillions raffle, was purchased at Eason’s in the Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork city on 23 February.

It officially expired today at 5.30pm after the 90-day live period came to an end.

The now defunct ticket was the only winning Irish one purchased for the February draw.

The draw included a special EuroMillions raffle with 25 guaranteed prizes of €1 million across participating countries.

In recent days, Lotto officials had pleaded with people to check their tickets, but to no avail.
