SOMEONE IS WAKING up today in Ireland a whole lot richer. And that someone bought their ticket in Limerick city.

Last night’s Lotto jackpot saw one lucky winner bring home the jackpot of €4.3 million.

The winning numbers were 1, 7, 10, 17, 35, and 37, while the bonus number was 43.

A Lotto spokesman confirmed that the ticket was sold in Whitty’s Mace store in Caherdavin in the north of the city.

“I cannot believe it. When the call came through last night I was in shock,” store owner DJ Whitty said this morning.

This is the second Lotto jackpot winning ticket we’ve sold in our 21 years in business here.
It is fantastic for the town of Caherdavin and there’s a great buzz around the town this morning. I’ve no idea who the winner is but we hope it is one of our local customers.

Hopefully the winner will actually collect the jackpot this time. 10 days ago a winning EuroMillions ticket worth €1 million expired after the owner failed to claim their prize within the strict 90-day time limit.

It was a good night all round for lottery aficionados – players from Leitrim and Louth also won €106,121 each after matching five numbers plus the bonus.
