4 of a kind: Seriously luxurious homes across the country

From a modern country manor in Waterford to a high-end townhouse in Malahide.

IF THE THOUGHT of taking on a home renovation project right now has you coming out in hives, finding a house that’s ready to walk into and in little need of work is sure to appeal. And a little bit of luxury never hurts either.

This week, we’ve found four fancy homes across the country that fit the bill.

Virginia, Co Cavan – €650,000

This architecturally-designed split-level home that spans a whopping 520m². With five bedrooms in total, three of which have en suite bathrooms, this is a large and luxurious home for a big family or those who love having house guests. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor along with the elegant living room and double height sunroom that steps out to the patio area. A big kitchen, along with another cosier lounge and a utility room, which leads to the basement, complete the ground level.

Every bedroom upstairs has a walk-in wardrobe and three of these bedrooms have access to a granite balcony with glass balustrades. And, as well as the patio, to the back of the house is a granite veranda with glass balustrades that‘s accessed via double doors from the ground floor. Steps then lead down to the garden at basement level. The house is just a stroll from the town of Virginia.

Malahide, Co Dublin – €1,875,000

Spread over 481 m², Karroc is a top-of-the-range luxury home filled with high-end fixtures and fittings from a brand new kitchen and appliances on the ground floor to the games room and home gym located on the top. The middle floor has five bedrooms with the master enjoying an en suite and walk-in wardrobe. A guest toilet, utility room, lounge and dining room complete the large and light-filled home.

Looking out over beautiful surrounding grounds, this home’s location needs little introduction seeing as it sits elegantly in north Co Dublin with everything Malahide, Howth and the city have to offer within easy reach by car or on public transport.

Tralee, Co. Kerry – €665,000

This home in The Kingdom sits on an acre site and has views of  Tralee Bay and the surrounding mountains. The garden to the front is south facing and the luxury is evident as you approach the front door and step on the marble floors. A bright and airy home, the rooms comprise a living room to the front that connects to the patio. There is also a versatile room that could be a home office, gym or playroom. The open plan kitchen also looks out to the front of the house and has a utility room and shower room to the back.

An extension in 2006 saw the addition of a large lounge and the bedrooms on the first floor. All six bedrooms live on the floor above with the main enjoying an en suite bathroom and a dressing room with luxurious marble floors. A double garage on the site would make an ideal home office or games room.

The rooms inside comprise a bright hall that links to the open plan living with dining space, a kitchen and breakfast room and then a utility. A sitting room and study completes the ground floor along with two of the five bedrooms. Upstairs, the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom, while the remaining two bedrooms share the family bathroom.
