Major fire breaks out in Co Wexford town

At least four fire brigade units are attending the scene in New Ross, where an apartment block on the town’s quay is ablaze.

A MAJOR FIRE has broken an apartment block on the quay in New Ross, Co Wexford.

RTÉ reports that at least four fire brigade units are attending the scene, and that firefighters are continuing to battle the blaze.

The fire broke at about 4.30 this afternoon, according to Beat 102-103.

AA Ireland has warned that the N30 Enniscorthy/New Ross Road is closed at Mountelliott, and that considerable traffic delays should be expected in the area.

Traffic travelling into New Ross from Enniscorthy can divert via the N25 Belmont/New Ross Road.

No injuries have been reported.
