Male and female bodies found in Grand Canal

Gardaí are investigating after the bodies of a male and female are recovered from the Grand Canal at Inchicore.

GARDAÍ IN KILMAINHAM have opened an investigation after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered in the Grand Canal in west Dublin.

The two bodies were discovered in the canal at Suir Road in Inchicore by a member of the public, shortly after noon today. Gardaí believe that the two are in their late 20s.

The scene has been sealed off at present, and Gardaí have asked members of the Technical Bureau to attend the scene.

The services of the state pathologist have also been sought. Post mortem examinations are due tomorrow.
