Man (20s) dies following single-vehicle crash in Sligo

The incident happened at around 3.45am this morning.

A MAN IN his 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Sligo. 

The incident happened on the R294 road in the townland of Drimina, Tubbercurry at around 3.45am this morning. 

The man, who was the driver of the car, was fatally injured. The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.

The road remains closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct an examination of the scene. Local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the area between 2am and 4am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
