Man, 21, killed in two-vehicle collision in Kilkenny

The 21-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving struck a 4×4, whose driver escaped with minor injuries.

A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after the car he was driving struck a 4×4 in Co Kilkenny.

The accident happened at Brownstown, on the road between Thomastown and Inistioge, at around 8:30am this morning.

The man was the only occupant of the car; a second man, who was the only occupant of the other vehicle, escaped with minor injuries.

The R700 road has been closed pending a Garda forensic examination, and local traffic diversions are in place.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact Thomastown Garda Station at (056) 7754150, the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
