Man (26) charged with murdering his father in Co Antrim

The man is also charged with the attempted murder of his mother.

PSNI DETECTIVES FROM the Serious Crime Branch have charged a 26-year-old man with the murder of his father and the attempted murder of his mother last month.

John Lamont, 64, died at his home in the Carnvale area of Ballymena in Co Antrim on 15 January.

His 59-year-old wife was seriously injured in the incident.

The 26-year-old suspect will appear at Ballymena Magistrates Court this afternoon.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
