Man, 27, killed when his car hit a ditch in Cork

The collision occurred in the early hours of this morning.

A 27-YEAR-OLD man died in a single-car collision in Cork in the early hours of this morning.

He was the driver and sole occupant of the car which left the road and hit a ditch at Kennelworth in Youghal some time between 12.30am and 3.20am.

His remains were removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital. The road is closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to contact them at the local station on 024 92200.
