Man, 29, dies in single-car accident in Co Limerick

The man was the only occupant of the car, which left the Croom to Granagh road shortly before 4am.

A 29-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after the car in which he was travelling left the road in the early hours of the morning in Co Limerick.

The man, the sole occupant of the car, was travelling from Croom to Granagh when his car left the road about 1km outside of Granagh at about 3:55am.

The man was seriously injured and was taken to Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick, where he later died from his injuries.

The road has been closed for forensic examination and local traffic diversions are in place.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who was on the road between 3:30am and 4am, is asked to contact Gardaí in Askeaton on (061) 601630, the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
