Man in his 50s dies in fire at Dublin flat

The fire at the Constitutional Hill flats in Dublin 7 was spotted at about 3:30am.

A MAN in his late 50s has died after a fire at a flat in Dublin city.

The fire was spotted at the Constitution Hill flats, on the north side of the city, at about 3:30am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination to try and identify the cause of the blaze.

A post-mortem is due on the deceased man this afternoon.

Gardaí in Bridewell are investigating the incident.
