Man arrested over Lurgan bomb

A man has been arrested by detectives from the serious crime branch following an explosion in Lurgan yesterday afternoon.

A MAN HAS been arrested by detectives from the serious crime branch following an explosion in Lurgan, Co Armagh on Saturday.

A device exploded close to police officers attending reports of an unnotified parade at Levin Road on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place at the junction of the North Circular Road and Levin Road shortly after 3pm.

Police were already in the area following information that an unnotified parade was to take place.

There were no injuries

The 46-year-old suspect was arrested in Lurgan on Saturday night and is currently assisting police enquiries at Antrim serious crime suite.
