Man arrested after 9mm pistol found in car

The firearm was found this morning after a car was stopped at Temple Street, Dublin 1.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man after a firearm was found in a car following a garda operation in Dublin.

At 10.50am this morning a car was stopped by the Garda Emergency Response Unit at Temple Street, Dublin 1 and a 9mm pistol was recovered during a search.

The 21-year-old driver of the car was arrested at the scene and is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Mountjoy Garda Station.
