Man arrested after drugs worth €400k seized in Ennis

Gardaí seized cannabis herb and resin with an estimated street value of €400,000 in Ennis last night.

ONE MAN HAS been arrested after gardaí seized cannabis herb and resin with an estimated street value of around €400,000 in Ennis last night.

Gardaí stopped and searched a car on the M18 at Ballymaconna in  Clare as part of an operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the west of Ireland.

A 31-year-old man was arrested as a result of the search and is currently detained at Ennis Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The cannabis herb and resin seized during the search has an approximate street value of €400,000 pending further analysis.
