Man arrested after €240k drugs seizure

More than 300 cannabis plants were found growing inside a house at Old Leighlin, Co Carlow yesterday evening.

ONE MAN HAS been arrested in connection with a garda drugs seizure in Co Carlow yesterday evening.

Gardaí searched a house at Old Leighlin at around 7pm yesterday and discovered more than 300 cannabis plants growing inside the property.

The street value of the seizure could be around €242,000 (pending further analysis).

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is being detailed under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Carlow Garda Station.

The property at Old Leighlin remains preserved for technical examination and gardaí are continuing their investigations into the incident.
