Man arrested after 'grenade' siege

Police and bomb experts closed area of Glasgow for hours during incident.

POLICE IN SCOTLAND HAVE arrested one man after an eight-hour siege in Glasgow.

The 22-year-old man had barricaded himself into a flat in Glasgow this morning.

Police were called after reports of a domestic incident at around 7.30am. Armed support was called in after a number of grenade-like devices were thrown out onto the street.

Bomb disposal experts arrived on the scene and police closed the road.

Later this afternoon, around 10 armed officers were seen entering the building, and one was seen using a telescopic camera to look into the flat.

The road is expected to re-open shortly.
