Man arrested in connection to hijacking of car with 5-month-old baby in Dublin on Monday

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man as part of the investigation into the hijacking of a car in Mountjoy Square, Dublin 1 on Monday afternoon.

A five-month-old baby girl had been in the car at the time of the hijacking, but was quickly recovered unharmed. 

The man (aged in his 40s) was arrested this evening for an offence contrary to the Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Act, 1976, the Unlawful Seizure of Vehicles.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in North Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.
