Former solicitor charged over alleged €2.8 million fraud

A FORMER SOLICITOR has been charged in relation to an alleged €2.8 million fraud at a court in Dublin this morning.

Ruairí Ó Ceallaigh, in his early 40s, has appeared before Dublin District Court this morning where he was charged with seven counts of fraud.

The case relates to the alleged appropriation of funds from a client account in his family’s law firm, Seán Ó Ceallaigh and Co Solicitors in Phibsboro in north Dublin.

The case has been adjourned until 6 January 2014 when the book of evidence will be served.
