Man arrested and gun seized in crackdown on organised crime in Limerick

The man was stopped by gardaí who were on patrol this evening.

A MAN HAS been arrested as part of an ongoing operation targeting organised crime in Limerick.

Garda stopped the man, aged in his 40s, while they were on patrol on the outskirts of Limerick city at about 6pm today.

A firearm, subject to technical examination, and ammunition were seized.

The man is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act at Henry Street Garda Station.
